Here's a quick conversation we had with Robert James for Fresh Perspectives:

tbp- You're in NYC on the LES...what brought you there?

rj- Determination, Passion, Hard Work, a Solid Plan, a Dream and some Help from my friends including My Soul ML who has been my rock since we have met 4 years ago. That and some luck- Which I call the art of preparation.

tbp- Do you have a favorite fabric and what is it, if you do?

rj- I like most of all of Woven materials. I love the way you can make it take a form or let it drape. 

tbp- If your line could be known for one piece, what would you choose?

rj- I would not want to be known for one piece. I would want to be know for a complete look and a unexpectedly fun shopping experience.

tbp- What would the perfect client/customer ask?

rj- When your next event gonna be and when is the new stuff coming in, cause I psyched about the stuff I got last time! Keeping my customers happy and coming back is key to long tern success and growth.

tbp- Is there a current trend in men's fashion that you'd like to see go away asap?

rj- I think over all Men's fashion is in a good place. The only real menus right now might be the over developed over tricked out dragon thing. But who's to say I'm sure it make people feel cool and comfortable so I say to each his own. I keep my focus inward on what I want to do and let the rest sort it self out.
